NASHVILLE - (Sept. 30, 2005) - American Idol 4 winner Carrie Underwood will release her new single, "Jesus, Take The Wheel," from her debut album to country radio on October 18. The song was written by Hillary Lindsey, Gordie Sampson and Brett James.
"I loved this song from the first time I heard it, and it happened to be co-written by one of my favorite songwriters, Hillary Lindsey," says Underwood. "It tells a very touching story about asking for help. Everyone's had a point in life where you realize you can't control everything. I think many people will be able to relate to it."
"Carrie sang the daylights out of this song," says producer Mark Bright. "She is an absolute dream to work with in the studio. She has a great sense of herself, where she wants to go, who she wants to be and doesn't know the meaning of the word stress."
Underwood's debut country album, SOME HEARTS, on 19 Recordings/Arista is due in stores on November 15 and is one of the most anticipated albums of 2005. The album launches the day of the CMA Awards, a most fitting target date for Underwood who has clearly established her heart is in country music. The album is being produced by Mark Bright (Sara Evans, Jo Dee Messina, Rascal Flatts,) and Dann Huff (Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban).
Underwood is currently in the studio in Nashville finishing up the album after wrapping the American Idols Live! 2005
43-city tour on Sept. 11.

Carrie's Album to be called "Some Hearts"
Carrie has been in Nashville for two weeks finishing her first album, which will be called Some Hearts , an album that "drops" (that's what the kids say today) Nov. 15.
Coincidence that that happens to be the same date as the CMA Awards show? I think not. Carrie indeed plans to be in New York to take advantage of all of the nationwide CMA media coverage to talk about her album.
So what will the album sound like? Think pop-country. It's being produced by Mark Bright, who has made albums with Rascal Flatts and Sara Evans and others, and Dann Huff, who has worked with Faith Hill and Keith Urban .
I heard a snippet of the first single, a pretty ballad called Jesus Take the Wheel , and it sounds quite a bit like a Sara Evans song.
Look for the single to come onto country radio Oct. 18, and then you'll see her on several national TV shows in about three weeks.
Meanwhile, Carrie has enjoyed her stay in Nashville, working in Music Row studios and lunching at the nearby Panera Bread.
I can tell you she's an authentic Music Row maven now, though, because she made her first trip to Pancake Pantry on Monday morning.
In addition to pancakes, Carrie got several requests to pose for cell phone pictures, which she handled with smiles and grace.
In case you were wondering, Carrie ordered fried eggs over easy and pancakes. (Will someone please steer her toward the chocolate chip pancakes?)
"Jesus Take The Wheel" and Album Tracks Update
CarrieUnderwoodonline.com has learned from an exclusive inside source that "Jesus Take The Wheel" WILL BE on Carrie's album. Someone working close to the writers told us that not only will the song be on the album, but that it is actually written by Brett James and Hilary Lindsey (both which are listed on ASCAP). Also, we have learned exclusively that Carrie has recorded several tracks with Diane Warren who has written songs for Leann Rimes, Trisha Yearwood and others. We have learned (about) 4 songs were recorded of Diane's, with at least one of them making the album. In addition, we have learned that the mixing engineer for Carrie's album is Mark Hagan. He has worked on albums from Wynonna, Trisha Yearwood, Faith Hill and Shania Twain. According to our sources, Dann Huff brought him in to work on Carrie's album recently, and they're on a really tight schedule (around 3 weeks to finish the mixes). Sources can't be revealed, but you know who you are so thanks!!!! Remember that sources are not confirmed and for now this is all still rumors...

Carrie Given Demo Tape / Asked on a date (Source: howardstern.com)
I thought this was a cute story and decided to post it:
Eric the Midget called in to report on the “American Idol” concert he attended last weekend. A few weeks ago, Eric asked Howard to get in touch with the Maloof brothers to see if Eric could get backstage at the show. Howard had Gary contact them, and Eric was able to meet the performers. Eric thanked Howard, but he was most grateful to Gary, who Eric felt did most of the work. Howard said that no matter what he does for him, Eric refuses to thank him. Robin told Eric that the only reason Gary was able to get in touch with the Maloofs in the first place was because of Howard's name.
In addition to wanting to meet the singers, Eric also wanted to deliver to them a demo CD from a 12-year-old country singer named Brianna, whom Eric had met at a county fair. Eric was able to give the demo to “Idol” winner, Carrie Underwood. Robin thought the tape probably went straight into the garbage, but Howard seemed to think people like Carrie are probably nice to him given his condition. Artie agreed. He added that Carrie probably waited at least 10 minutes before throwing the tape away. Howard commented that he would've loved to have heard a tape of the conversation Eric had with Carrie about Brianna, especially considering Carrie barely has a musical career herself. Eric said Carrie was really nice to him, and that he would be willing to go on a date with her if he ever had the chance.

I picked up the October 3 edition of Life&Style and they are running a new Carrie Ad. This one appears to have the same pose as one we saw floating around the net, but if you will notice, there's no puppy @ the bottom and carrie is holding different shoes and different shows are around her. 57th Annual Emmy Awards HQ's
Carrie attended the 57th Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles last night and below are the photos from that event. As you know, I have been working on the gallery. It's not even near done, so far I just have about 500 pictures loaded. I decided to go ahead and put the Emmy pictures in the gallery even though it's not done to prevent me from doing twice the work. Hey guys! Just a note that because all of the photos on this site are starting to confuse me, I am installing a managed photo gallery. It should take quite a while to get all the photos uploaded, so hang in there with me! I will not use coppermine, I hate that program! Recently Released Article:
American Idol winner Carrie Underwood visited Karian Studios, a newly opened “resort” studio in Gallatin, Tenn., to meet with some of Nashville finest songwriters in preparation for her RCA debut.
With tracking sessions slated for fall with producer Dan Huff (studio TBA), Underwood met with such tunesmiths as Craig Wiseman, Hilary Lindsey and Rivers Rutherford, among others, to hear their work during a three-day retreat.
Karian co-owner/chief engineer Ian D'Souza oversaw the sessions, minding their SSL 4072 E/G+ and Pro Tools HD3 Accel. Guests stayed at the facility's on-site lodging, and had the option of such amenities as spa services, catered meals, horseback riding and sailing on nearby Old Hickory Lake.

It's rumored that Carrie will sing a song called "Trouble" from the flim King Creole. In 2002 Paramount started touting a remake of the Elvis movie King Creole (Thanks James). "American Idol" winner Carrie Underwood is in Milwaukee Monday for a photo shoot for Cosmo Girl Magazine at the Milwaukee Art Museum. The photo shoot location was recommended by Visit Milwaukee, and the photos, shot by Cleo Sullivan, will be used in the magazine's upcoming Prom 2005 issue.
The "American Idols Live" tour is in town on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. show at the Bradley Center. Underwood stayed at the Pfister Hotel Sunday night.
Sorry for the lack of updates
Sorry guys! I have been working... As you know, I work for a record label, I do web design of the official site of an American Idol's Junior Finalist and this weekend we had some instores, autographs, and a concert to do yesterday! Boy am I exhausted!! But we had a great time! I mostly hung out on the tour bus because it was so very hot! But thousands of people showed up for us and I'm very proud. !
