Carrie Underwood Matches Rimes' Country Debut Sales Record

Clive Davis awarded Carrie Underwood with selling 6 million copies of her debut album, "Some Hearts" last night on the American Idol Season 6 Finale and was certified sextuple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (Riaa) .

Carrie has become only the second country star to reach score six million sales with a debut album.

The only other country debut artists to do this was Leann Rimes who released her debut album, Blue, back in 1996.

Carrie Underwood Wins Three ACM Awards

Carrie shined along Tony Romo last night at the 42nd annual ACM Awards held in Las Vegas.Underwood took home three ACM Awards including Album of the Year for Some Hearts and the ACM for Top Female Vocalist. Photos below.

Carrie Takes Mom To ACM'S

Carrie Underwood Online was in Nashville over the weekend and learned that Carrie flew to Checotah Friday to spend the weekend with her mother. They few to Vegas on Monday for a few relaxing days untill the show airs tonight. Expect to see Carrie's mom along side her tonight at the ACM's!

ASCAP, BMI Honor Carrie Underwood, Writers of "Wasted"

ASCAP and BMI honored Carrie and the writers of Wasted last Wednesday at a party.

Underwood took time from her recording sessions to attend both events. Her second album, as yet untitled, will be out this fall.

"This is a very talented young lady," Underwood said of Lindsey. Then, in an apparent reference to her upcoming album, she added, "You'll be seeing a lot more from her -- from me."

Some Heart's sells 43,000 copies last week

Carrie Underwood's debut album, Some Hearts, made a huge jump last week selling 43,000 copies making it's total now 5.3 million copies in it's 74 week run on the charts. With this album still selling strong, Underwood plans a new album for a late 2007 release.

Carrie Underwood Makes I-Tunes Chart History

On American Idol's Idol Gives Back show which has raised over 80 million dollars for charity, Carrie Underwood was featured singing "I'll Stand By You" as she visited Africa and support the Idol cause. The track has now made chart history. According to Net Music Countdown,

"Carrie Underwood's recording of the Pretenders' classic, "I'll Stand by You," becomes the first iTunes exclusive track to debut in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart"

The pretenders song also entered the chart at #6 in the Billboard May 12th issue."I'll Stand By You" debutedt at #2 on Billboard's Hot Digital Songs chart with downloads of 124,496 copies.

Carrie stars off CMA Festival Opry Style

Carrie is scheduled to kick-off the Grand Ole Opry's week of shows during this year's CMA Music Festival.
